Family Day at the Wild Animal Park

Last weekend when the weather was nice and warm we took a trip down to San Diego and visited one of our favorite places..the Wild Animal Park.

Who doen't love seeing wild animals?

We used to bring Natalie there when she was much younger, but now that she is 3 she enjoyed it so much more and she was amazed at all the animals.

We saw about 15 giraffes eating right in front of us! It was the coolest thing to see, I've never seen so many!

We saw the cutest baby elephants (Nat's fav)..and she got to feed an adorable (and friendly) little deer.

There were little yellow flowers sprinkled around the park and she had to pick some.

And then the petting zoo..there were the cutest little billy goats..super mellow..except one nearly knocked me over while I was kneeling down to take a picture..it was kinda funny..and kinda embarassing.

lol

It was the perfect day. :)

Here's just a few photos from our day...

Rainy Day

Rainy days...time to stay inside.

Or not.

I decided Natalie needed to wear her cute ladybug rainboots my mom got for her last summer.

And my sister-in-law passed down the cutest Pinnochio raincoat that was passed down to her girls..this was the day to finally wear them!

I did have to bribe Natalie with a lolipop to wear the whole outfit for me so I could get a few pictures..it was a bribe well worth it I think! lol ...yeah mom oh the year! woot, woot! :)

It was a wee bit chilly so she didn't want to play outside too much..we were out there just enough time.

That cloudy day sure did make her eyes sparkle and her skin look so smooth..no harsh shawdows.

It's supposed to be rainy the rest of the week. Mehh..

Have a great weekend!

DIY Pillowcases

I am soo soo excited!

I officially know how to sew a pillowcase! Yeah...I'm cool like that :)

It's been on my bucket list for awhile.

I found some step by step directions here..it was pretty self explanatory and believe it or not, pretty simple.

I like simple!

The hardest part was picking out the fabric..luckily this cute print was 40% off at JoAnn's!

Photo bomb!

Remember my thrifty find pillows I found for $1.50? Yep..just a little bit of sprucing up and I've got totally new pillows.

I love them..I already have some request from my sisters for their own. :)

Hello 2013- My 1st Project Life page

So after a bit of pinning tons of ideas on Pinterest I finally caved and decided to try Project Life.

It really is a simple way to scrapbook, but I think I actually like this way better.

It's sooo much less time consumming and all your focus goes into the photos that you capture instead of all the littlle details...now I do love those little details, but this is a great alternative to easy, simple and quick scrappin'!

Here's an instagrammed pic of my 1st page..

After getting some supplies I feel like I am on my way to doing some awesome pages.

Lovin' my new washi tape. It's perfect for Proj. Life!

Now I just need to print some pictures asap to keep up week by week!

I started a Project Life board on Pinterest too for some inspration.

My Project Life board

Happy Scrappin'! :)

Rosey Cheeks

It's no secret...I LoVe learning about photography. One of my favorite blogs I like to visit is Blue Dandelion Photography...they capture the most amazing pictures I've seen. The colors, the hazy-ness, and the sweetness of every photo is just inspiring to me.

I've been super excited to try out their newest Vintage Matte actions on my own pictures.

Here's some cute ones of my Natalie using the Rosey Matte Action...

The colors are soft and vintagey and warm..and I love it!

I guess it helps to have a cute model and a brisk day at the park to capture those rosey checks! :)

Painting Expressions

This week we had a few days that were just too chilly to be outside so I had to think of some fun activities to do to keep this 3 year old entertained.

Luckily she's happy doing artsy things just like I am..so painting it was!

Natalie and I were having fun painting I thought it would be a great time to snap a few memories, I caught her making the cutest faces when the hubby was admiring her little artist skills.

So sweet!

Let it Snow

A little bit of scrapbooking for the weekend.

I love Creative Scrappers sketches.

This scrapbook page was based off of sketch #242.

I even did some machine stitching on this page. My sewing machine has about 100 different settings, so it's nice to get to play with them on my pages. :)

And I used my trusty Cricut for the cute little reindeer and snow hills.
